Dr Alan Bryant has practiced as a general podiatrist and podiatric surgeon in WA for many years. A podiatry graduate of Curtin University of Technology, in 2005 he joined the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences at UWA as Head of the Podiatric Medicine Unit. Between 2005 and 2017 he steered the development of numerous undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in podiatric medicine and surgery. Dr Bryant was responsible for developing, coordinating and teaching in the undergraduate 4-year Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine course that commenced in 2006, which later developed into the 3-year postgraduate Doctor of Podiatric Medicine course in 2013. He was also responsible for introducing and teaching in the 3-year Doctor of Podiatric Surgery degree program for graduate podiatrists at UWA that commenced in 2009. Dr Bryant was honoured by The UWA Podiatric Medicine Alumni in 2015 for his "Contribution to the advancement of Podiatry in Australia".
As of the beginning of 2018, he exclusively consults at the Bryant Podiatry Clinic in Mount Lawley. His private practice focus is general podiatry and podiatric surgery and has admitting and surgical privileges at South Perth Hospital, The Park Private Hospital in Mount Lawley and Southbank Day Surgery in South Perth. His PhD research investigated the changes to foot stucture and function following the surgical treatment of hallux valgus and hallux limitus deformities.
He has little interest in nor aptitude for golf or sailing but does enjoy relaxing with friends, immediate family and our dogs :)
